There are two Professional Doctorate programsoffered by the School of Social Research:Ph.D. in Sociologyand Ph.D. in Anthropology.The aim of the programs is to prepare students for scholarly and applied research and for teaching in sociology and anthropology.

These programs combines an emphasis on competence in theory and research methods with opportunities for the development of each student's own interest.Sociology studentscan develop their research interests in sociological theory and methods,applied sociology,social governance and social policy,social psychology and cognition.Anthropology students can develop research interests like visual anthropology, cultural anthropology,urban and rural anthropology,political and legal anthropology and so on.

The normal study period of these programmes are 4 years,and the maximum study period are 8 years.
