The Second Group of field work Teams from Renmin University of China Arrived at the Field Study Site in 2023

Research is the foundation for planning and the path to success.The second group of field work teams from Renmin University of China set off for their field study sites in 2023.
1.Xinjiang
On the morning of July 16th, the Xinjiang team of the 2023 field work program from Renmin University of China departed from Beijing. After a full day of transit, they finally arrived at Altay City in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 3 pm on July 17th.Theirfield study topics encompass multiple themes including medical care, education, grassroots governance, and other areas. The students in the team have diverse academic backgrounds covering various disciplines. During this research and study, students from different disciplines will cooperate sincerely and contribute their expertise to jointly delve into Xinjiang.
2.Taizhou, Zhejiang
On the afternoon of July 16th, the Taizhou team of the 2023 from Renmin University of China arrived in Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province.The students focused on themes such as the diverse aspirations of various stakeholders on the island regarding island development, sustainable tourism industry, grassroots social governance, etc. They gained a practical understanding of the livelihoods and sentiments of the residents on Dachen Island, while also delving into the historical progression, current practices, and future trends of social change in China.
3.Chengdu, Sichuan
On July 16th, the Chengdu team of the 2023 field work program from Renmin University of China arrived in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. The Chengdu team is the largest and most diverse team in this field work program. The team consists of 9 professors from the School of Sociology and Population Studies, 60 students from 16 different departments of Renmin University of China, and 4 students from other domestic and international universities.
4.Qufu, Shandong
At 2:00 pm on July 16th, the Qufu team of the 2023 field work program from Renmin University of China departed for Qufu, Shandong Province, the hometown of Confucius.The Qufu team will conduct research and study on three major themes: child protection, policy experimentation and demonstration, and traditional cultural spaces and heritage. By exploring these themes, they will examine society through a micro perspective and experience the unique joy and rewards of field studies.
5.Dingzhou, Hebei
On the afternoon of July 16th, the Dingzhou team of the 2023 field work program from Renmin University of China arrived at their destination.As early as the 1920s and 1930s, the renowned sociologist Mr. Li Jinghan led the famous 'Ding County Survey' in Dingzhou. Since then, scholars have continuously engaged in various forms of rural development and social investigations in that area. Returning to Dingzhou and continuing the academic tradition of the Ding County Survey is the mission and relentless pursuit of the faculty and students in the sociology department of Renmin University of China.

The 2023 field work program extensively recruited students from various schools, disciplines, and academic levels of Renmin University of China. It also opened participation opportunities to students from The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, as well as other domestic and international universities. As a result, a diverse team of 281 participants was formed, with a wide range of professional backgrounds, academic levels, and a blend of multiple teaching faculties.
